		The Designing Women of the Wichita Center for the Arts is a volunteer organization that constantly strives to maintain the Center's high quality. Designing Women's most popular fundraiser, Holiday Tables, is held each year in November and has long been a successful community event. 	Desiging Women Mission Statement The mission of Designing Women is to promote and advance the welfare of the Wichita Center for the Arts by providing financial support and services to the performing and visual arts programs offered by Wichita Center for the Arts. Designing Women is to work in conjunction with all other volunteer and staff efforts at the discretion of The Wichita Center for the Arts Board of Trustees, subject to the Bylaws and polices of The Wichita Center for the Arts. Designing Women History Designing Women of The Wichita Center for the Arts was first initiated in 1990. The late Virginia Mastio, then Chair of the Board of Trustees, envisioned a women’s volunteer group organized to produce fundraising social events for The Wichita Center for the Arts. Bill Otton, The Wichita Center for the Arts president at that time, contributed the name “Designing Women” and the business format. After several informational meetings, potential members were invited and the fledgling group had its first regular luncheon meeting January 1991. The main project for Designing Women is the fall “Holiday Tables” where tables are decorated for display and a light lunch is served. It is a very successful event and aids in raising money and creating a social activity for The Wichita Center for the Arts. Designing Women also uses its members’ unique talents and ideas by supporting many programs and special events at The Wichita Center for the Arts.
