Although trained as a painter, G. Daniel Massad has focused exclusively on pastel as a painting medium since 1981, creating work that has found its way into the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. His workshop will emphasize a variety of pastel mark-making, layering, and edge-building techniques and will include a demonstration of the method he developed for producing the luminous, minutely detailed surfaces his work is known for.

Artists face some unique tax situations. Through the use of clear examples, artists will explore income tax reporting, deciding if it is a hobby or a business, determining employee or independent contractor status, business, expenses, depreciation, selling work out of state and other deductions. In addition, students will investigate which tax forms to use and how to report their income and deductions.

Learn about different types, brands and tastes of spirits and cordials at this one-of-a-kind workshop with beverage expert Roger Fowler. Roger started his career at Gallo Winery in California and today is a Vice President at Standard Beverage Corporation. Having 47 years of industry experience Roger can educate and answer any questions students have about sprits and cordials.

In this class students will sample different types of spirits and cordials, and be involved with an open discussion where all questions are welcome. Students will also receive informative handouts and beverage information to take home.

The workshop will cover the key elements of sculpting the human figure using water-based clay. Vincent will share tips and techniques, present daily lecture/demonstrations, and give individual critiques. Using a nude model, participants can sculpt busts or the entire figure. Special attention will be given to the anatomy of the human figure and how to add life, feeling, and movement to your work. The patina workshop will cover cold cast patina only, no firing, no bronzing. Studio 2. Tuition includes model fees.
